I'm standing for the Bay of Plenty Regional Council because I believe we need strong, practical leadership to protect our environment, support local jobs, and ensure value for our rates.
Loyal. Technical.

Hi, I'm Glenn Dougal. I've lived in Mount Maunganui for over 20 years with my wife Debbie and our three children Charla, Antalya and Jem. I'm the owner of Wave Agency, an award winning communications agency working with local clients like Zespri, HortNZ, Brother, EastPack, NZ Windows, Waipuna Hospice and Port of Tauranga. I'm also a Director at Legacy Funerals, which has returned over $4 million to our community.
With a background in science and governance, I started my career as a physicist and weatherman with MetService. I've worked globally with the BBC, Sony and the European Space Agency, and locally I've chaired the Tauranga Arts Festival, Film BOP, Rotary, and been a board member of the Sustainable Business Network.
I'm practical, logical, and committed to doing what's best for our people and our place.

I'm standing because this region matters. From the harbour to the hills, our environment is critical to our economy, lifestyle and identity. The Regional Council plays a leading role in protecting natural resources, improving public transport, adapting to climate change, and ensuring sustainable land and water use.
I want to bring stronger accountability, better science communication, and practical leadership to these challenges. I'll be a voice for progress and protection.

Better governance, financial transparency, and practical delivery on regional priorities.
Smarter transport solutions
Let's get serious about integrated, usable regional public transport.
